<p>You are not alone. If you are reading this article, you are probably one of those people who have come up with reasons and justifications why they are not &#8220;ready&#8221; to start exercising or eating healthy, and feeling &#8220;guilty&#8221; afterwards. You promise yourself that you will definitely &#8220;start tomorrow,&#8221; &#8220;when you have the time,&#8221; &#8220;when you have the money,&#8221; etc. The question is, are you ready to drop the excuses and drop the weight? Are you now ready to see results and start seeing those gorgeous changes in that already beautiful feminine body?</p>
<p>However, it is not just about getting that perfectly sculpted body. It is really about being fit and healthy and maintaining a healthier lifestyle. Getting a toned body is the inevitable result of practicing a healthier lifestyle, but the most important reward you take away is your life. It is easy to take life for granted, but notice the difference when you are sick. When you are sick, you cannot go out with friends, go for walks and basically, just enjoy life. When you are sick, you can&#8217;t even enjoy food in the first place! Being sick simply sucks!</p>
<p>So what do you say? Let&#8217;s start looking at these excuses and tear them down one by one!</p>
<p>Excuse 1 &#8211; &#8220;I&#8217;m exhausted! I simply don&#8217;t have the time.&#8221;</p>
<p>Believable isn&#8217;t it? If you think about it, it actually sounds reasonable. Afterall, you work at least eight hours a day, add maybe an hour or two of daily commute, chores to do when you get home, personal calls and emails you simply &#8220;must return.&#8221; What about time for yourself? What about that TV show you&#8217;ve been following? Let&#8217;s face it, isn&#8217;t it your only form of recreation for yourself? What about that Facebook status that you need to update? Wow! What a laundry list! Oh yes! That too! You have to do laundry! How can anybody fit in laundry after all that! What about sleep? When are you going to sleep? You&#8217;re right. By the time you&#8217;re done, it&#8217;s bedtime.</p>
<p>You&#8217;re not the only one who is in the same position. Most people have a regular 8-hour or so work day, have kids and other personal matters to attend to, but they make a choice to include a fitness regimen in their daily routine. The following are just some simple options that you can consider.</p>
<p>During that half-hour break, can you use it to go outside and take a five-minute walk? Okay, fine, it&#8217;s winter. How about walking up and down the stairs? It&#8217;s a one-story building, you say? What about buying a pair of barbells and doing some curls on your desk or kettle bells. All it takes is five minutes.</p>
<p>You can still watch TV, do laundry or read a book and do some simple exercises during without really disrupting or distracting your attention from what you are reading. Rest and relaxation is important in fitness, just make sure that you don&#8217;t incorporate unhealthy habits like eating fatty and unhealthy snacks while doing your daily evening routine. If you must snack, do some online research as there are many healthy snack alternatives available out there! Choose the one that you like the best and stay with it.</p>
<p>The only excuse that you are allowed to have is the one on giving yourself and your body enough hours of sleep. If you are truly too tired to exercise, just do yourself and your body a favor by not subjecting it to further strain by not eating fatty unhealthy snacks, but instead, rest and sleep. At the very least, your body is able to repair those muscles that have been worn off and also build your immune system.</p>
<p>Excuse #2 &#8211; &#8220;I cannot afford a gym membership. I don&#8217;t have any exercise equipment.&#8221;</p>
<p>It&#8217;s really up to you. Do you really believe this? You have to be honest with yourself. Until you are ready to admit to yourself that you are simply making excuses, until you are ready to make that first step, you are going to stay where you are right now. That&#8217;s just a fact. You do not need gym memberships or expensive equipment to be fit. That&#8217;s the bottomline. These days, resources, FREE resources are literally at your fingertips. There are many online resources that can give you exercise options that can fit your schedule and your lifestyle. All you have to do is pick one and stick to it. At the very least, make a habit of going for walks every day, either by yourself or with a friend. Not only will it exercise you, but it will also allow you to decompress, take away stress and introduce fresh air into your poor tired system.</p>
<p>Excuse #3 &#8211; &#8220;I am not well enough, or young anymore to exercise.&#8221;</p>
<p>All you really need to do to disprove this excuse (if you want to), is go to a Senior&#8217;s Center and see seniors much older than you, some even in wheel chairs, exercising, dancing, shaking their booties and having a ball! Shame on you for using this as an excuse!</p>
<p>With very few exceptions, and only if your doctor truly sees it as detrimental to your health, that you can use sickness as an excuse. The medical profession has embraced and recognized the importance of having some form of exercise included in your daily routine. As a matter of fact, you should check out Zumba Gold on youtube, and you will see older people, people in wheelchairs and even morbidly obese people dancing to a fast Latin beat and having a blast. <p>At the end of the day, it is your decision &#8211; do you want to be fit or do you want to stay the same? The only thing standing in your way is an excuse.</p>

While secondary schools generally present a zero-tolerance, &#8220;just say no&#8221; answer to the question of such substances, parents must recognize that the issue is not always so simple. In households where a glass of wine is common with dinner, it is difficult to expect kids to avoid alcohol for their entire lives. Parents must speak with teens about drugs and alcohol in a more realistic way. This does not mean encouraging them to partake in the consumption of such substances. It does, however, mean having more of a conversation about the topics. Parents must set their own standards and rules when it comes to drugs and alcohol, explaining the consequences of the consumption of such substances to teens but keeping lines of communication open at all times.</p>
<p>Sex is also a complex issue that secondary schools often deal with a &#8220;just say no&#8221; policy. While abstinence is ideal, it is not always realistic. Nor does it always fall within the moral guidelines of all parents. And even if it does, that doesn&#8217;t mean adolescents will always abide.</p>
<p>As drugs and alcohol are often taboo subjects in school, so is sex. Secondary schools often stick to an abstinence-only message, foregoing a conversation about safe sex. This is where parents come in. While abstinence may be the ideal option, it is not always the most true-to-life. Parents may have varying opinions about sex before marriage and should share them with their children. And even if abstinence is preached at home and in school, teens do not always abide.</p>
<p>Parents must engage their children in a conversation about sexual activity, from birth control to STDs to safe sex. Kids must know what options are available to them and feel comfortable with talking to their parents.</p>
<p>There is no need to force adolescents to make permanent decisions that set the course of their rest of their lives at such a young age. It is, however, important to talk to them about what they imagine for their lives. Parents may be surprised to find out things about their children they&#8217;d never imagined &#8211; that their jock son would really like to be a veterinarian, that their nerd daughter is not that interested in going to college.</p>
<p>While secondary schools deal with all of these subjects to some extent, they do not do so in a way that is personal. Parents have a much better chance of finding out what it is that teens are seeking and going through in their lives, facilitating a two-way conversation.</p>
