It can be very uncomfortable to experience acid reflux symptoms. In many cases, attacks begin in a rather mild way. It isn’t that uncomfortable at first, so you don’t think anything of it. Eventually, however, as you feel worse, it becomes clear that you are having an attack. If you can recognize the early symptoms of acid reflux attacks, you can use this to your advantage. The earlier you can be aware that an attack is going to happen, the better your chances of treating and managing it. Here are some of the symptoms of acid reflux that you need to be aware of.
Believe it or not, throwing up can be a symptom of acid reflux. It goes without saying that acid reflux is only one possible cause out of many of vomiting. Some people who suffer from acid reflux, however, do have this symptom. If too much stomach acid accumulates in your stomach, your stomach can run out of room for it and the food that’s also there, so you vomit. Of course, acid reflux can cause the acid in your stomach to reach excessive levels even when there isn’t a large amount of food in your stomach. You should ask your doctor for advice if acid reflux causes you to vomit. You don’t have to live with this, as the amount of acid in your stomach can be safely reduced. Do you ever experience a tart taste in your mouth? Do you ever get a bitter taste in your mouth? These tastes could be your mouth behaving in accordance to the stomach acid that is being generated. There are times that it is a reaction to some of the stomach acid seeping out of your stomach and up to your esophagus. A harsh or bad taste in your mouth doesn’t always mean you have acid reflux. When it is melded with other indicators of acid reflux, though, it can help your doctor in appropriately diagnosing your condition.
You probably can recognize as a symptom of acid reflux that feeling of stomach acid in your throat. This symptom is called regurgitation. Sometimes you will feel this because you are suffering from a stomach flu and are about to vomit.
Other times, you will feel this sensation because you are suffering from an attack of acid reflux. See your doctor if you experience this symptom even if it is only temporary.
Often acid reflux symptoms are mistaken for signs of other problems. The great thing is that you can better handle attacks once you know the symptoms. Be sure to get a proper diagnosis so that you can treat your condition correctly. On the other hand, the more you know about your condition the easier it is for you to get back to a normal life. Doing the things you want to do are possible as long as your acid reflux disease is properly treated.
