Meditation has been around for around two thousand years, it’s been a way of life for mankind. In fact every religion that is practiced by men uses some sort of meditation as a way of achieving a higher form of spiritual consciousness.
At first meditation was used by religious priests, for a while now even ordinary people have been employing meditation as a way to discover the several benefits that meditation offers.
For those who are new to meditation, it is simply the practice of concentrated and intense focus on sounds, objects, ideas, breathing rhythm, action or movement to be able to intensify perception, cut down stress, enhance relaxation, personal and spiritual growth.
Although meditation techniques have originally been practiced along religious traditions and beliefs in order to build up spiritual knowledge and awareness of ultimate reality, it can also be employed by anyone in order to relieve stress and pain.
With the latest understanding by Western medical practitioners of the important role of the mind in one’s ability to cope with health issues, more and more interest in meditation and its function in alleviating some physical ailments has made the practice an adjunct of traditional medical treatment.
It is interesting to note that medical clinics and hospitals across the nation have been offering the practice of meditation as a possible method for patients to improve their health. Meditation is currently employed as a method for treatment of some diseases, as an additional therapeutic process for a comprehensive treatment program and as a means of improving the quality of life of people with chronic, debilitating, or incurable illnesses.
There are three approaches to meditation, transcendental, relaxation response, and mindfulness meditation, which is the stress reduction way of meditation.
The practice of meditation brings to bear on the seven major chakras (which correspond to the body’s major endocrine glands) the power of the environment and the universe.
By practicing meditation for at least 30 minutes daily greatly contributes to the balanced and harmonious interdependent functions of the body’s major chakras with one another.
As energy continually flows from the root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye and crown chakras during meditation the entire body’s biological, emotional and spiritual aspects are equally nourished and balanced and in the process physical, emotional and spiritual toxins are cleansed.
When practicing chakra meditation you will need to be able to concentrate deeply, as the uninterrupted flow of energy comes into your body which will also give your major chakras a huge boost.
A neat way to look at it is a turbocharger for your body, or even a catalytic converter that will gather outside energy and harness it and channel it out to the different parts of the body and the chakras.
And since your chakras are such a huge part of your body’s physical and metaphysical makeup, with fine tuning of these items our daily lives are affected either directly or indirectly, emotionally, physically, intellectually, and even spiritually.
As previously mentioned, there are various ways to practice chakra meditation; regardless of the methods employed the initial and basic steps are almost all the same; to achieve concentration and allowing the state of focus to spread throughout the whole body.
You will not notice an immediate change from practicing chakra meditation, but more of a gradually change that will slowly take over your thoughts to give you a more positive outlook on life. Meditation is believed to help a person live a better life and be happier both physically and emotionally.
It seems that one of the biggest advantages is that people are more able to concentrate and their awareness is greater.
Other benefits of chakra meditation are a heightened creativity, and resourcefulness is more enhanced since the perception of people is higher, and they notice more events that are happening around them. Plus with chakra meditation it is noticed that ones sleep is better and deeper. With deep sleep a person’s overall health will be improved.
If you practice daily chakra meditations you will also notice a great reduction in the level of stress in all areas of your life. Because you will have better control over your emotions and better patience
Normally one’s overall health is greatly improved through the practice of meditation. It will help to lower blood pressure, which in turn will reduce the risk of heart disease and strokes. Also with meditation stress of people who suffer from chronic health conditions has been lowered.
